Sweater Weather│Shopping haul

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door

Hello my lovelies!
My friend Krruti and I had been shopping like crazies yesterday to buy something suitable to wear on this event where she would be modeling (so proud of her!) and God knows it took us forever to find something apt and fitting. We both were wandering like rogues, window shopping and all, and came across this local store which was having a sale. And so being the smart ladies that we are who never miss an opportunity, we fox-trotted into the storehouse with all our enthusiasm and started digging. After devoting a full hour religiously to those clothes, I finally found something for me. What is more to it, is that they were relatively light on my pocket (just spent all my petrol and phone bills’ money, but no biggie! Papa are you reading?). We also further jumped into the market and bought further amazing things (for which Krruti had unearthly bargain skills and patience) that I am just so much of a proud owner now *cheeky smile*. Well, enjoy!

Why Beauty Blogging│That Weird Girl Next Door

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door

thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in

Hiya my lovelies!
I started blogging this year, October 6th to be precise and a lot of you have been kind enough to read my blog even though it is still just a baby. So, thank you for that! A lot of my own friends and my family members ask me why I choose to write a beauty blog or how I am writing it when basically it is my mum who has a beautician degree and I am just  a college dropout. Frankly, I do not know.
To be honest, That Weird Girl Next Door on a whim. There was a fashion week in my town and I got to interview a lot of fabulous people in there. It was like something within me stirred and their lives had somehow touched a chord that opened this world to me. I got to talk to the makeup artist and she was kind enough to share her tips with me and I cut it down which is basically my first Blog post (5 Simple Eye Makeup Tips). After this, I took a personal pledge where I decided that everything can just be whatever it has to be but I am going to work on this thing with all my heart and blog daily.
I have had days since the 6th of October, 2014 where I would either be so apathetic that I would sit idly for hours at stretch and still could not come up with the post the next day or days where I would write two posts in the same hour and post them and still have one as a draft that my hands would be itching to post. This was like a NaNoWriMo that my own brain set up and soon I was regularly posting a blog a day, to which I believe people must have thought I have a lot of spare time at hand or I am overdoing it. For a while I believed I was.
Things have changed for me from then (no, I don't have a brand endorsement, yet) as a person. I did not expect anything to come out of the writing hobby of mine but it has, in intangible ways. I am so thankful to have started That Weird Girl Next Door because I just discovered how much I anticipate this, writing for you lovely people of the Internet. When some of you leave me private message and say all the sweet thing it literally acts like gasoline to the fire (in a pleasant way). I love you for this and for appreciating things I write.
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
I have seen and known a lot of talented people out there who write mightily but are scared to post their piece of mind on the Internet. There are a lot of reason for your insecurity and I can understand, at one point in my life I was skeptical as well. Firstly, blogging is like an art, just like any other art that there is in the world. If you are one of those people who want to share their information with others without expecting anything in return, come join this place. Seriously. This is basically a hobby, that does turn out to be a job for some people but that comes in a later stage and it is the last thing to think of as a beginner. What your blog should be is the first thing to decide. Find out what you are most passionate about and want to share with the world; you can write your favorite poem, that article on World Hunger or Stock Market or a Hunger Games Fan Fiction...whatever your heart wants and whatever wouldn't feel like a burden after a few weeks.
I know when a person blogs, they put ourselves in a critical position of being judged by what they write, just like any artist out there who creates something. Each post to a blogger is like a baby and is personal to  in ways that cannot comprehend. And so once you have your baby with you, it is time for you to introduce it to others. Just like a parent knows about her child's  capabilities when s/he is in front of others, you will only learn about your blog's qualities and capabilities when it is out there for people to read. You cannot tell if it is a wise decision or not to post or to not post until you post it and get feedback on it. But above all of this, please, just please don't doubt your ability.

The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt
-Sylvia Plath

If you choose beauty blogging, then congratulations, you just opted for the most difficult of blog genre that there is to select from. With almost tens of thousands of blog out there, it will take you a lot more time to get discovered and even more time to get subscribers. However, if you really want to do it, like I always wanted to, then don't be daunted and start it. You will have to be consistent, creative and innovative to run your blog. Like there is one of the quote that goes something like Beauty blog is not all about product reviews, keep in mind that that is not all your blog has to offer, however that is important as well. I did not realize this when I started to I went market every second day and got a new product with a sole motive to review it. What I realized later was the products that I was choosing were already being reviewed by a lot of bloggers and so why would someone come to read my blog. You have to keep on doing new things, like for example, haul posts, Face/Outfit of the day posts, Easy-to-Do makeup tips or DIYs or whatever new that you can offer in your own unique way. Don't hesitate to experiment and share, leave me your link and I would love to go through your blog!
Once you are all set and have a blog, then it is time to share it. There are countless communities on Facebook, Google+ and other social medias and you can join them to find a like-minded audience. They will be your readers so keep your best foot forward. Share your blog's link every chance you get (that does not mean that you have to go about spamming people). There will be some readers that will follow/subscribe to you and then there will be the ones who will open the link just for the sake of it. Frankly, if you have 10 followers, only one would religiously come back to read what you post. Now that one person would also be the one that will spread out the word and be the person actually interested in what you write.
Be patient and let your blog grow. It would not instantly have the number of viewers that you desire but if you be regular anpost genuinely then I feel that people would soon find a way to your blog. I blog daily but that is quite a task and I know that not everyone would have time to do it. If you be as regular as posting even twice a week, I think you will have your fair share of viewers in some time. Good Luck and Happy Blogging!

So this is it! Hope you enjoyed reading it and had fun, and also that this answered any question you had in mind.

Cheers xx

The Coaxing Coats!

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door

I have always looked at women like Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Sonam Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Emma Watson and Kate Middelton when it came to dressing because I can’t help but feel like a swooning mortal looking at the Goddess. They take their appearance seriously and I respect it so much. These are my one favorite outfits worn by these ladies that I would trade my brother to have them.
Shout out to these masterpieces worn by these amazing ladies! I have been a fan of coats and these women wear it like a boss. *Excite face* so…let’s start!
It is my dream to buy something designed by this amazing lady. I love you Mrs. Beckham!
How does she manage to look so fabulous and fresh all the time? I don't feel much human when I look at Kim Kardashian
Just love, love, love this on Sonam Kapoor!
Do I dare? This looking just like a dream on Priyanka Chopra
I love blazers and this particular one held me in a trans and it just looks way too good on Deepika Padukone
Emma Watson has been my childhood inspiration and she still is. Look how lovely she looks!
Kate Middleton is my favorite when it comes to winter dressing
Ihope you enjoyed this post and these wonderful women's coats!

Cheers xx

Website Review│Jabong

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door!

Hello my lovelies!
I ace at online shopping and I am a 100% Miss Fastest Finger when it comes to scrolling through the sites, compare it with another one and order the best deal, that too before my microwave goes ping with aromatic popcorn (this might or might not be an exaggeration). I have half my laptop screen jagged with the bookmarks of online shopping sites and right now Jabong.com is making its way to the top.
That Weird Girl Next Door

Recently, I was approached by a Jabong.com team representative who asked me to review the website with a courteous e-mail that I was flattered to read. I do not generally review websites or take requests as most of the times it actually feels like an order and people get really pushy but the Jabong team was patient enough, giving me enough time and a piece of mind to write. They win a point for that!
Another reason to take this request was because it is a way of promoting bloggers as well and I feel this is such a nice gesture on their behalf. I feel that it is communities like these that make us bloggers feel important, read and mostly, celebrated.
Okay, this is enough of heart to heart for now. I should begin with what I am supposed to begin with *cheeky grin*. So...let's start!

I was gifted a 500 INR voucher from Jabong, which I felt was very much a day light to my gloomy days (story of my end-of-the-month days). And my excitement had hit such crescendo that I searched through every department, stopping & adoring every item and then with a slap on wallet swearing that I will only take something this is the necessity of this hour.
That Weird Girl Next Door
I would like to mention the GOSF 2014 sale and the Jabong Fashion Week that is about to come in December with amazing discounts and my heart hooked. There are fabulous international brands that are exclusively available such as Aldo, He Mango and Burton and the regulars like Tommy Hilfiger, New Look, CK Jeans and various other high-end ones for you to pick from. Let me just tell you, there is something for everyone. Anyhow people of the Internet, this is your call!
I ordered what my father says has become my new addiction, the makeup products. Give me a break, I am just a girl!
Here are the things that I ordered and because the discount was on every product (who am I supposed to thank for this genius discount?) I got to buy what I always wanted *squeal*.

I mean, just look at this darling, do I even say a thing? I love the color (my favorite!), the reviews and the 50% discount. Apart from that, I love that this is from Makeup Revolution London and it feels like an accomplishment having ordered this!

There was this tweet by Maybelline New York India's page that went there's nothing like too many baby lips. I still have two lip balms that are untouched and here I took another one. Shopaholic much? Might be. The only thing I was disappointed by was that this Baby Lips was promised by a Colossal Kajal and it was not sent. Sigh.

That Weird Girl Next Door
I could not resist when I saw this bath gel and something inside me whispered put this in the cart, thank the heavens I heard my inner voice and got it.

If you wish to read the reviews on the products I bought, then let me know by leaving a comment.

Overall, I loved my shopping experience with Jabong. I want to congratulate them for coming up with such fabulous site that is very user friendly, easy to shop on and having different payment methods that makes it convenient. I value the site and would love to return and shop *stares at the calender to the date when my next paycheck would come*.

Evaluation: 4½ of 5
I give this score to Jabong for making the shopping exciting and amazing. The only reason that I did not give a 5 is because my order came separately and not at once and the Maybelline Lip Balm was promised with a Clossal Kajal, or maybe I read wrong? No, I didn't!
I would like to say that Jabong has topped my list of favorite online websites.

Photoshoot│That Weird Girl Next Door

Welcome to that Weird Girl Next Door

Hi my lovelies!
So yesterday I was on a tight schedule with the magazine I work with, having a photoshoot and all and I could not really post anything because by the time I got home my feet were screaming with a terrible ache and eyes were dropping for standing a good span of 6 hours in front of the camera light. Good job, Apoorva!
Here are some of the pictures that I smuggled from the set, but sadly the photographer said that I was only allowed to have my pictures and not of the models. Masterpieces, I call them!
It was fun sharing with you a part of my day and I hope you enjoyed this!

Cheers xx

Fab Bag November, '14│Why I diss it

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door

thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
Hello my lovelies!
Soooooo, I finally received my fab bag an hour ago and I was too pumped to write about it, so here it is!
All the bloggers had glorified it so much in their post and I thought it would be just one excellent thing, but to my dismay, this was a disaster. I do not write any negative review but I think that you guys deserve to know the truth and it is just not that good an item. I am not going to ramble or whatever in this post and get straight to business.
Another thing is that the delivery had my hair graying. I received my bag on the 25th of this month and since other bloggers had already posted their reviews, my surprise was shattered to a millionth piece. Frankly, I just could not appreciate a single thing I got, if anything, I feel robbed (the intensity of my pain is so much that my last line rhymed). So...let's start!
(note: this is not the review of the products)
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
I got six things in the November Fab bag (and since I am too lazy, I will just post a picture)
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
So that said (posted, actually), I will just tell you what I expected and what I got.

City Color Cheek Blush

 Swatch: With and Without Flash
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
After Application: Without and With Flash

I absolutely love, love and love this cheek stain. I got a travel size for it but I do feel that this will last a lot longer. I will definitely buy this again once it finishes. This is, I think, the only product I like
Full Size: 300/-

thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in

Kama Ayurveda Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
This is a 10ml bottle that smells awful and seeing the size, this is from where my disappointment began with.
Full Size: 495/-

Votre Invigorating Orange Hand & Foot Gel Scrub
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
Other pictures were so misleading and made me believe that this tub bottle was larger in size, but look at it! My palm is frankly bigger in this! I am sorry, but I just feel robbed.
Full Size: 550/-

Gulnar Handmade Soap- Mint Lemongrass
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
When I saw this, I was like Are you kidding me! I mean, this is way too travel size and small to be included in the bag. Some of the bloggers had taken the picture with the soap on the table and I thought it was standard size, but you can very well see its size now *sulky face*. It smells great but I could have got something better.
Full Size: 250/-

All Good Scents Perfume Essentials- Radiant
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
This is probably the joke in the bag. I have no idea why they even sent it (just for the sake of adding more products, maybe?) This is 1ml (no kidding) and the fragrance is the one I did not even like. I am more of the flowery and sweet scented girl, this is too strong and musky for me. Really Fab Bag team?
Full Size: 750/-

Wella Enrich Treatment Mask
thatweirdgirlnextdoor.blogspot.in
I don't even want to say. I do understand that this is sample but it is way too less for my hair for even a single use.
Full Size: 525/-

Overall, (excuse my French) I hated Fab Bag! I get they sent sample sizes but I don't think it deserved that much amount. Plus the bag is only cute, the quality is not that good. I will never in my life buy it again!

Hope this was useful to you in any sort.

Quick Product Review│Garnier White Complete

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door

Hello my lovelies!
I have never been a fan of whitening creams as being fair skinned I never thought there was any need of it, but this was one product that I was recommended by a friend who said, 'Forget whitening, you won't look pale. It is good in ways that you'll know when you know'. Yes, you'll know when you know.
I have always loved creams that are for multiple usage plus that suit your skin. I sort of do not try new creams (take in consideration sort of) as my skin does not really absorbs every cream and sometimes my face decides to show up with an allergy a week later. Typical, I know! But the Garnier White Complete has worked on my skin without any side effect whatsoever. So...let's start!
I have used the face washes that Garnier takes out but this is my first cream experience and I really like it. It came with a tub packaging and has a creamy white texture. Being lemon extract base, it is great on oily skin, however it does not stay for long and the creamy texture makes skin greasy after a while. It gets absorbed after a minute of massaging. It instantly brightens you skin. The cream also gives a soothing effect, making your skin feel smoother than before. Being SPF 17++, I actually use it as a sunscreen.
In my excitement I took out way too much
Yep, still massaging
This is a comparison of both my hand and the one I applied cream of was instantly whitened.

Price: 150 INR for 40gm

Usage: Take appropriate amount of cream and gently massage it on your skin to see results.

Pros:
Really light on skin
Great for oily skin
Has a mild yet nice fragrance
Whitens instantly
Moisturizes skin
SPF 17, does not let UV rays effect skin
Great to use on its own, giving a BB cream like effect
Soothes skin
Contains Salic acid, it helps in preventing pimples
Light weight, handy and travel friendly
blends well for the skin
Cons:
Makes skin a little greasy after a while
For me, the whitening effect lasted for a while

Overall, I would recommend this product for its freshness and soothing whitening quality. It also makes a great sunscreen that lasts for a while. I would definitely buy this again.

I hope this was useful and you enjoyed this post!

Cheers xx

MY 10 FAV INTERNET QUOTES

Welcome to That Weird Girl Next Door

Hello my lovelies!
So it is 0614 here and I just felt like I need some burst of motivation today to start my day. Is it only me that think your day is spent how your morning begins? I was reading my picture quotes and I just wanted to post it for you guys as well because if there be just one person who enjoys this post, then in some way or the other we have mutually been together for a moment and understood each other. Creepy much?
I have elephant size dream and all I want from all my heart is to being able to travel and so those are my favorite quotes. Maybe you can relate to me? So...let's start!
I have simply believed that pictures like these are so powerful that they evoke something deep within you. I know everyone has a dream and you might think that it is pointless or that you can never go beyond where you are at this moment but you are wrong. The wind will change, the situations will alter and if there is something you want from all your heart, you will get it. You might not get it at this time, but you will surely get it when the time is right. Till then, just breathe and live in the moment.

Now here are some of my favorite travel quotes;

I think travel quotes or stories are closest to my heart because they arouse my imagination and make me want to jump into the plane and go somewhere far far away. If there is something like adventure, I think it was actually meaning travel.

I really hope you enjoyed this post and you have a burst of motivation to begin your day!

Cheers xx
